It's a beautiful mature, confident and sexy scent. I usually reach for this during the colder months or if Im going out at night. It's slightly sweet, warm, and smokey type of wood thats almost spicy. It smells like the color of the bottle, dark green, deep woods after rain with beautiful, not too sugary plum. I wore this to work during our Christmas party and it did not offend anyone. My inexperienced nose can smell a lot of plum underlined by subtle woodiness. It is a fiercely confident scent, which at first, I felt was too vicious for my liking. I didnt like it. In my youth and before I knew better, I would probably have liked Decadence. This is such a nice, sweet perfume. After a while though, it calms down and I find the mystery again. However, thankfully that pickle juice note does not dominate on my skin (and I love pickles!). Otherwise, it's a very lovely, sweet, sexy, deep and feminine scent. , Anyone knows anything about reformulations? I tried Decadence six years ago at a Macys and I didnt really enjoy it. Loud, fruity with a greasy almost patchouli like vertiver. This scent is luxe, sumptious, and addictingly seductive. Decadence was launched in 2015. Maybe it doesnt work on certain peoples skin but on me its simply gorgeous. As I continued to smell myself more and more, I realized I knew this scent. This perfume is so delicious. Definitely not a scent for everyone as it makes quite a strong statement but it is THE scent for me. I cant wait to grab a 100ml bottle.. The best I could describe it is that it made the car smell like a late night uber car after having picked up multiple rounds of people from the club. Decadence is one of those perfumes where I dont really pull individual notes as theyre blended masterfully, and the result is just an expensive-smelling juice. It feels rich, warm, indulgent. I find that most of the green fragrances I have smelled are quite refreshing and light so its interesting to smell a more sensual and deeper green blend. It's heavy, musky and plummy (it doesn't smell exactly like CD Poison but has that same musky heaviness). The plum is very strong on the sample card, but it's nicely balanced by the iris on skin, and softened by the saffron. I tend to avoid vetiver as much as possible, so I expected to dislike it after reading the reviews, even the positive ones. My girlfriend described it as a calm lagoon near a roaring waterfall. It lasts all day with just one spritz onto the neck. Top notes are Plum, Saffron and iris; middle notes are Orris, Jasmine Sambac and Bulgarian Rose; base notes are Vetiver, Papyrus and Liquidambar. I briefly read the notes before purchasing with a generally excited tone upon purchasing. Unique too so dont worry your not being generic. I kinda of smell the dill pickle profile some people have noted. I don't understand why women complain about the only Marc Jacobs perfume that smells highly sophisticated. I havent smelled anything like this before. It didn't smell anything like plums to me though, more like sweet lychee. if i try really hard i can pick up like herbs and green things (pickles, radish, parsley?) Based on the list, I dont hate anything individually. I am glad that it is not popular because I have not smelled this on anybody in years, I am the only one wearing it in my neighborhood/town. The warmed fruit tone has an interesting dichotomy against the cold vegetal iris/orris butter; it smells warm but it feels cold. Yet I found myself sniffing my tester every now and then and seriously contemplating buying a bottle (if not for the smell, then for its exquisite design!). Its sillage is not stifling, but flows out enough to grab the attention of others. It gets more complex as time passes and the floral, amber, and vertiver come out to play. If you like oudy scents, this is for you! its like if someone combined all the bad parts of pink sugar and all the bad parts of good girl, which are two fragrance i like but decadence is like them on steroids, honestly felt like every time i breathed in my nose hairs were getting singed off, the notes in here are so sharp, to the point where i just couldnt think straight cause it gave me such bad brain fog. But in a younger sister with less layers and depth. Despite all these, I can say it s the most distinct and beautiful from all MJ I have tested during years. First I bling purchased Eau So Decadent, and despite the cuteness of the bottle I ended up selling it because it was too green and grassy to my nose. F*** it 2020 is weird, life is short, I'm a man, and this is my SOTD. of course it could just be how it reacts with my skin so if youre considering this dont let me put you off entirely because it could wear more pleasantly on your skin, but its definitely not a safe blind but at all. Im a gourmand lover & some comments where saying this is sweet & gourmand but most definitely not to my nose Ive washed my arm 4 times now and changed my top and the scent wont go uh!!! If you are expecting a girly plum this is not it. the plum is dark and mixed with the leaves giving it a gothic vibe. a pass for me. I find it sweet but not fruity candy sweet, more like a dark chocolate sweet. I do a spray on each wrist of the decadence and one of the back of the neck, then go in with a little body spray, and it's a nice intimate scent for sure. 8/10. It is sweet and fruity indeed but its still classy. i don't know why people dislike it, maybe because straight from the bottle it can smell how it looks, really really green. The plum note is what stands out the most to me then in the dry down I get lots of the vetiver and amber. At the bottom, I do smell the amber with a bit of papyrus and vetiver, but the fruity note still remains and overpowers the base notes. But when I spray the bottle on me its like a punch in the face and it gives me quite a headache. it is extremely strong though and too much of it can definitely be too overpowering and mature smelling but overall its sillage is amazing and it lasts extremely long and is a perfect night out, gourmand fragrance. Some people call this the boss bitch perfume and to be honest, they aint wrong. It is extremely fruity and boozy on me, but not in a good way. This is a BOSS LADY scent for sure. hopefully one day I can grow to love it but for now ill give it brownie points because the bottle is so cute. This perfume was my signature for a long time, and am so heartbroken it has been discontinued. The opening of this reminds me a lot of Jessica Simpsons Fancy nights. It definitely smells like a rich lady lol the woods in perfumes can sometimes give me old lady vibes bc they're so deep and intoxicating, but I actually don't mind the dry down of this and I always get compliments when I wear it. It has a sexy element to it. They really managed to convey the smell of a successful business woman/lawyer etc, the smell of money and fine luxury goods. Aura and this are sisters. This is the fragrance of a woman who knows what she wants in life. unfortunately i'm also picking up on the pickled plums.
