I very much want to buy a vintage version of this before it's too late. Enjoy! Sillage is low, longevity is about 2-3 hours (it's a cologne) I purchased this this as a blind buy when looking for a beachy fragrancea wonderful home run! Being a lover of any perfume that smells beachy, with a suntan lotion vibe, I was sure it would be love all over again, but it did not go that way. That feel childish at the same time, could be nostalgic. It's still a nice fragrance, just not quite how I remembered. Now after trying so many gourmands, body sprays and beach scents I find this refreshing and real. I had this one a while back. Later that day, I kept sniffing my arm. I am glad to have it, it's amazingly inexpensive, and I do look forward to getting to know it better. It used to be lovely but they have reformulated all the life out it. Lasts well, great versatile scent. She replied it's Sand and Sable. All gardenia, all the time no soft sandy warm beachiness, just Giorgio. My least favorite note. I first purchased this after reading a description in a women's magazine pretty much just after it first came out. I'll be buying more, as well as a full size. Ahh smells like summer nights. It's not nearly as Tuberose heavy, or as creamy, or as just all around as "perfection" as Madonna's masterpiece, BUTI do enjoy it quite a bit! I do think it smells like Jennifer Aniston! It was the scent of my entire youth. I don't normally say this, and im really not sure why, but I really dont like this perfume. It's taken me a week to try it because when I got home and read the fragrantica notes I realized I had bought a tuberose scent. I'm wearing this on a clear Fall day. I use this almost more than any of my expensive perfumes. It seems to last forever( all day)on me. I have the cologne spray in the tubular bottle, going to track down some of the edt in the circular perfume bottle. Ran into Walmart to check sand and sable out. It's very inexpensive and smells lovely. It just doesn't last. I like it for home because I wore it in 7th grade so it brings me back to simple times. Strong jasmine is a tinsy bit overwhelming, for it totally smothered creamy gardenia in the opening, and it's gardenia what I'm hoping to get in Sand&Sable. it gives me a massive headache and makes me sneeze. I know many like this as a warm weather scent, but because of it's comfy, cozy feel it gives me, I personally like to wear this is the fall and winter. Nothing compares to what the original formulation was. This fragrance is excellent-it seems to melt into my skin rather than sitting on top of it. My grade school days in the early 90s to be exact. I also wanted the tuberose to not be directly up my nose. I remember thinking it smelled just like the beach. I spritzed some on at a Fay's drug store and immediately fell in love with it. I have not had a bottle in years so I think its time to revisit this old friend! The floral notes seem like they might be nice on their own though. If the peach wasn't involved I'd love the composition but as it is now, no. I want to keep this in my collection!! If you want a summery white floral that isn't too timid or bland give this a go, it has a creamy quality that very slightly reminds of Monoi eau des vahines, but I found that one to be too ylang heavy for my liking. I've tried SL Tubereuse Criminelle, and while I like it and think it's beautiful, I'm not crazy about the Bengay opening or the super light silage. Or, later, that Marc Jacobs & Michael Kors millennial signature scents were just more aquatic versions of the ol gardenia & tuberose. Better off getting Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia. SL Datura Noir is on the way as a blind buy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's the one. and reminds of a one of my favs BBW Velvet tuberose. It was amazing how similar this perfume smelled to MK. So I pulled out my vintage bottle from the collection. Then, it wears off to a light, warm, gardenia with just a hint of sweetness. A dirty, earthy, sweet thing. I never really thought about coconut with this, just the white florals but now in dry down I can sense the beachy goodness!
